Last January 22, we attended our welcoming ceremony hosted by UMSU.
We joined the students of UMSU in lining up at the parking lot in front of the administrative building. The university's faculty and headmaster delivered speeches in Bahasa Indonesian and led the students in singing the school song, as well as the national anthem.
During the ceremony, we were given our official SEA-Teacher Project ID's. I also had the chance to give a token to the headmaster of UMSU, courtesy of our University President Father Gilbert Sales.
While it was definitely hard for me to understand the speeches delivered during the ceremony, I do appreciate the university formally acknowledging our presence and making us feel welcome during our stay here in Medan.
After the ceremony, we had our pictures taken with the university faculty.
All in all, it was a wonderful and eye-opening experience.
